If you're like most of my couples, you've probably never planned a wedding before! While I'm not a wedding planner and I can't take the place of one, I provide much more than just showing up on your wedding day with a camera.

In the months leading up to your wedding, I'll meet with you virtually several times to go over your wedding day timeline. From your first look to your first dance, I'll review every single detail of your schedule to help ease your mind and ensure that everything is seamlessly planned and nothing is forgotten, so you can enjoy your big day with peace of mind.

Once you're ready to get started, just click the Contact button below, where you'll fill out a small form with a few details about your wedding. I'll send you an email within 24 hours and let you know if your wedding date is available! If it is, we'll set up a complimentary consultation, in-person or over Zoom, where you can meet me, ask me questions, and find out if I'm the right person to capture your wedding day. If we decide that we're a great match, then you'll make a 15% deposit to reserve your wedding date (with a simple online payment option.) After that, payment plans are 0% interest and very flexible! We'll create a custom payment plan that works for you.

Once your date is reserved, I'll send you a welcome email with all of the details you'll need, including a guide with all of my planning tips for every moment of your wedding day! Then, over the months leading up to your wedding, we'll have several Zoom planning sessions where we'll go over every detail of your wedding day to make sure that your photography plan is perfect.

During your wedding day, I'll transition back and forth between photojournalistic photos and posed photos. At certain times (for instance, during the ceremony) I'll be capturing all of the events and emotions as they unfold naturally. At other times (for instance, family pictures) I'll step up to direct the moment for you, posing and directing your group to get the perfect shots.

 

My role on your wedding day is to be your cheerleader and to make you look and feel your best. I'll be a positive, supportive presence at your side, making sure that every hair is in place, every fold of your dress lays perfectly, and every pose is natural and flattering. I know when to fade into the background to unobtrusively capture candid moments, and when to step up to pose, direct, and remind you that you look stunning.

Receiving your pictures is simple and streamlined. Your edited, high-resolution, digital photos will be delivered to you, within one month of your wedding, in a private online gallery. From your gallery, you'll be able to easily download your pictures. Not only that, but you can also share the gallery with anyone you'd like, and they'll be able to download the pictures as well! You can also order prints, framed photos, and canvas art directly from your gallery and have them shipped straight to your home. However, since you'll also receive full printing and sharing rights, you don't have to use this service - you're free to print your photos anywhere that you'd like.

I am delighted to travel to your wedding anywhere in the United States! For weddings 50+ miles from Metro Detroit, travel fees may apply to cover transportation and/or lodging, and we will work out those details together based on your unique wedding plan.

About Me

Hi! I'm so happy to see you here. My name's Melody. I photographed my first wedding when I was 16 years old, but fell in love with the art of photography long before that.

​

My journey to professional photography began in film school. After that, I gained experience working on projects for The Weather Channel, the Detroit Medical Center, and HGTV.

 

In 2016, I started my own photography business, and ever since, I've been using the skills I learned in television production to direct hundreds of photoshoots! Photographing a wedding is a lot like filming a movie - there's tons of little details, lots of moving parts, and a story being told from beginning to end.

​

When I'm not snapping photos, editing pictures, or updating my website, I love to write, paint, hike, and travel. I prefer my coffee with cream and rainy days.
